Since the beginning of 2018, the US Dollar Index, which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six developed market currencies, has dropped by around 3%, after falling by around 10% in 2017. This has taken place in an environment of rising rates, with the Fed raising interest rates three times in 2017, as well as robust growth in the US economy.
