In a landmark move, two call warrants issued by Macquarie and JP Morgan are set to start trading on Hong Kong’s stock exchange today covering a physically backed RQFII exchange-traded fund. Both securities cover the China AMC CSI300 Index ETF. Not only is it the first time an RQFII ETF is being used with an equity derivative, it is also the first warrant to be issued on a physically backed A-share ETF (until now all warrants on A-share ETFs have used synthetic underlyings).
